Moto G5 And Moto G5 Plus

Lenovo has announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, the next generation of its budget G-series phone line. From there, the specs between both G5s vary quite a bit — and line up perfectly with the leaks. The regular G5 has a Snapdragon 430 processor, while the G5 Plus gets the Snapdragon 625 . The G5’s camera is a 13-megapixel f/2.0 system with phase detect autofocus, and the G5 Plus ups that slightly with a 12-megapixel f/1.7 camera with dual-focus pixels.

Moto G5

The Moto G5 has a Snapdragon 430, the Moto G5 Plus a Snapdragon 625 CPU. Each SoC is driven by eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores, but the Snapdragon 625 is clocked at up to 2GHz instead of up to 1.4GHz. They also have different Adreno GPUs. The Snapdragon 430 is a great entry-level chip; the 625 a decent mid-range one.

Moto G5 Plus

Coming to the Motorola G5 Plus, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. It is powered by the 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, and offers 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM models depending on the region. It offers either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage, with the option to expand further via a microSD card slot (up to 128GB).

In the camera department, the Moto G5 Plus sports 'the most advanced' 12-megapixel rear camera with dual autofocus, 4K video recording, f/1.7 aperture, and dual-LED flash. The Moto G5 Plus packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery with TurboPower charging that claims to give you six hours' worth of battery life in just 15 minutes.

Motorola claims it's going to blow away anything else close to this money. It has a f/1.7 aperture lens and dual-pixel autofocus (just like the Galaxy S7), meaning it should offer excellent low-light performance both in terms of light gathering and focusing speed and accuracy. The main advantage that comes with dual-pixel technology is its quick focus capability. Lenovo unveiled the Moto G5 Plus alongside the Moto G5 at MWC 2017. The G5 Plus will be released with either 32 GB and 2 GB of RAM or 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB internal storage, and is expected to be available for $229 US. The color choice is fairly limited, as you'll be able to choose between either lunar gray or fine gold.
